Our Commitment
Skyward Family Practice is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, physicians, learners, contractors, and staff. We are dedicated to delivering quality healthcare in an environment free from violence, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, and abuse.
We treat every individual with courtesy, dignity, and professionalism, and we expect the same in return.
Unacceptable Behaviour
- Verbal abuse, yelling, profanity, or insulting language.
- Threatening, intimidating, or aggressive behaviour.
- Harassment, discrimination, bullying, or unwanted sexual comments or conduct.
- Physical violence, attempted violence, or threats of violence.
- Throwing objects or intentionally damaging clinic property.
- Unwanted physical contact.
- Recording, photographing, or filming staff, patients, or clinic activities without permission.
- Abusive, threatening, or harassing communication by telephone, email, text message, social media, or any other means.
If This Occurs
To protect the safety of everyone in our clinic, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Ask the individual to stop the behaviour or leave the premises.
- Cancel or reschedule an appointment where it is safe and clinically appropriate.
- Contact police or emergency services when there is an immediate threat to safety or property.
- Document the incident and, where appropriate, terminate the physician-patient relationship in accordance with applicable professional and legal requirements.
